Frequently Asked Questions
Is this covered by my Medicare?
Groove is currently covered by Original Medicare. If you have secondary insurance (like a Medigap plan), most members pay $0. Without secondary insurance, there's a small monthly co-pay, typically between $14–$28. Medicare Advantage coverage is coming later this year. When you check your eligibility, we'll confirm exactly what your cost will be before you commit to anything.
How is this different from going to PT in person?
With Groove, you get a dedicated physical therapist for the long term, not just a handful of visits. Your PT checks in with you throughout the week, is available for questions anytime, and adjusts your plan as you progress. Everything happens from home, on your schedule, with no driving to appointments or sitting in waiting rooms.
Is this safe for someone with osteoporosis?
Safety is our top priority. During your welcome call, your physician and physical therapist evaluate your health history and bone health status. If we determine the program is a good fit, your PT builds a plan specifically for you and your capability level. Every movement is chosen to be safe and appropriate for your body, and your PT monitors and adjusts as you go.
How often do I talk to my physical therapist?
Your PT is available throughout the week via messaging, and you'll have regular video check-ins to review your progress, adjust your plan, and make sure everything feels right. If something comes up between check-ins (a question, a concern, something that doesn't feel right) your PT is there to help is always available via text, phone call, or video call. You're never on your own.
Do I need special equipment?
Nope! Your plan is designed around what you already have at home. Many members start with just a chair and a mat. If your PT recommends adding anything simple like a resistance band down the road, they'll help you find the right option.
What if I've never done anything like this before?
That's exactly who this is for. Most of our members hadn't done a structured bone health program before joining Groove. Your PT meets you where you are and builds a plan that fits your current abilities and comfort level. You'll be surprised how quickly you start to feel stronger and more confident.
